Today I’m gonna talk about my daily detox drink which only requires two main ingredients which are:
- Apple Cider Vinegar
I have been making this healthy drink for a week and I am feeling healthier and fresher throughout the week! 🙂 Ladies, women and men consume this drink for a variety of purposes such as for weight loss, prevent fat accumulation, reduce bloating, cure indigestion, detoxification and even to gain a flat tummy.
I have only been practicing this for a week and I haven’t lose any weight yet, mainly because I’ve been eating so unhealthily. I had extra big appetite during PMS and ate a lot of junk food. But at least the fact that I consume my homemade detox drink every day, I felt less guilty hehehe.
Besides, people create/customize their own detox drink (for a better taste/more health benefits) by adding a variety of ingredients such as cinnamon powder, honey, tumeric, ginger, cayenne pepper and fruit juices. However, mine is easier. I like to keep it simple 🙂
Some people drink it once a day every morning, but I’m more flexible and I drink it whenever I feel like it 🙂
Let’s cut the chase and here is what I do every day:
1. Cut a slice of lemon and put it in your drinking glass.
Some people prefer to use whole lemon and use a squeezer to squeeze all the juice out. However, I love to make my drink with the skin of the lemon in it. Lemon peel have several health benefits such as improving bone health, fights cancer, reduces cholesterol, maintains oral health and cleansing the liver (according to 10 Amazing Benefits of Lemon Peels)
2. Pour semi-warm water into the glass.
According to Hutchins (2015) in How Does Boiling Affect Vitamin Content, it is important to preserve the nutrients in our food. The Vitamin C content in food can be reduced by extreme exposure from cold, heat, light, lengthy storage and water.
Hence, what I will do is to reheat the already cooled down boiled water in the water heater, for less than a minute. So that the water temperature is not too hot.
3. Add a syringe of Apple Cider Vinegar into the glass.
You can use the bottle cap of the Apple Cider Vinegar to measure the amount of ACV or by using a tablespoon. However, I always spill the ACV while pouring the liquid out, mainly because the bottle is too bulky. Hence I use a syringe I found in my cabinet which helps me prevent the mess and wastage. The bottle cap is approximately 3ml, same as the measurement of my syringe. Lastly, stir it. I didn’t like the taste in the beginning but eventually I got used to it.
